Pricing FAQ
The questions that actually come up.
Can I switch tiers anytime?
Yes — Apple's StoreKit handles upgrade and downgrade prorated automatically. Upgrade Pro → Pro AI mid-month and you're charged the difference for the remainder of the period. Downgrade and the change applies at the next renewal.
What happens to my recordings if I cancel?
Recordings stay on your device. Pro/Pro AI features stop after the period ends, but everything you recorded is yours. The Free tier transcribes existing recordings unrestricted; the 120-min/mo cap only applies to *new* recordings going forward.
Why is Pro AI more expensive than Otter / Notta?
Cross-recording inference costs more than per-recording summarization. Pro AI runs seven on-device transformer passes across your full library — Promise Tracker, Truth Layer, and the rest aren't analogues to anything the competitors ship. The 7-day free trial is so you can decide whether the work being done is worth the price for you.
Family Sharing?
Not currently enabled. The model is one user, multiple devices. If you want a household account where multiple people share recordings, that's not what Bonfiyah is built for — Otter's team plans are the right tool for that shape.
Refund policy?
Refunds are processed by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines and you have a specific reason you think they should approve, email support@bonfiyah.com — we can advocate on your behalf.
Education / nonprofit / accessibility discounts?
Annual pricing already comes out to two months free, which is the de-facto student discount. Beyond that — for accessibility-related needs, journalism nonprofits, or other genuine cases — email support@bonfiyah.com and we'll make something work.
