How can we help?
Most questions have answers below. If yours doesn't, email support@bonfiyah.com — a real person reads every message.
Frequently asked
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Bonfiyah → Cancel Subscription. Or open Bonfiyah → Settings → Manage Subscription, which deep-links to the same Apple-managed page. Subscriptions remain active through the current billing period.
How do I get a refund?
Apple processes refunds, not us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Bonfiyah purchase, and request a refund. If Apple declines and you have a specific reason you think they should approve, email us — we can advocate on your behalf.
Why isn't iCloud sync working?
Three things to check: (1) Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud → Bonfiyah is on. (2) You're signed into the same Apple ID on both devices. (3) Both devices are connected to the internet. If all three are true and sync still isn't happening, force-quit Bonfiyah and relaunch. If still broken, email support with the device models and last sync time.
Can I get my data out of Bonfiyah?
Yes. Settings → Privacy → Export My Data produces a `.zip` containing every audio file, every transcript (text + JSON), every consent record, every Pro AI output. The export is yours; we don't keep a copy.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Privacy → Delete My Data. This wipes the local database, all audio files, your iCloud-synced data, and your account on our backend. We send a confirmation email when the deletion is complete (within 30 days; usually within 24 hours).
A recording is missing or won't play.
Open Settings → Diagnostics → Recording Integrity Check. Bonfiyah re-verifies every audio file's hash and reports any that have been corrupted. For corrupt files, we can sometimes recover the audio from a separate chunk store; the diagnostics view will surface that option if it's available. If a recording is unrecoverable, email support with the recording date and we'll investigate.
The transcript is wrong / has the wrong speakers.
Tap the speaker name in the transcript to relabel. Bonfiyah remembers the relabel for future recordings (Pro). For transcript errors, tap any word to edit; corrections improve the on-device model's accuracy for your future recordings on the same device.
I need to record someone but I'm in a two-party-consent state.
Open the recording flow. Bonfiyah will surface the relevant rule and offer the consent prompt. The simplest workflow: enable the verbal consent prompt, let it play, capture the other person's "yes" — that's a defensible record under most state's two-party rules. See Consent.
Pro AI feature isn't working.
Pro AI features run on-device and require an iPhone with Apple Silicon (iPhone 12 or newer). They also require the recording to be at least 60 seconds long for Promise Tracker / action items, and at least 5 minutes for Story Mode and Speaker Themes. If your device meets the requirement and the feature still isn't running, force-quit and relaunch Bonfiyah, then re-open the recording.
Bonfiyah is using more storage than I expected.
Settings → Storage shows the breakdown: audio files, transcripts, AI-generated outputs. Audio files dominate (typically ~1 MB per minute of recording at default quality). To reclaim space without losing transcripts: Settings → Storage → Auto-archive Audio After [30/60/90 days] — this moves older audio to iCloud and keeps only the transcripts on-device.
