Is there an introductory price?
No. Everyone pays the prices on this page from the first month: Pro $14.99 a month, Pro AI $19.99 a month. What new accounts get instead is 14 days of Pro and Pro AI, no card needed. Apple shows the price on the subscription sheet before you subscribe, and you can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions.
Is there a free trial?
New accounts get 14 days of Pro and Pro AI, from the first time you open the app. No card needed. When the 14 days end nothing breaks: the Free plan continues — the full recorder on one device, 120 minutes a month, no subscription. Subscribe to Pro or Pro AI whenever you want more; cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions.
How does Bonfiyah Friends work?
Refer a paid signup with your unique code: both you and the friend get one free month credited to your subscription. You can earn new credits during your first 180 days as a member, up to 12 banked at a time — already-banked credits never expire and redeem at your renewals. Can I switch tiers anytime?
Yes — Apple's StoreKit handles upgrade and downgrade prorated automatically. Upgrade Pro → Pro AI mid-month and you're charged the difference for the remainder of the period. Downgrade and the change applies at the next renewal.
What happens to my recordings if I cancel?
Recordings stay on your device. Pro/Pro AI features stop after the period ends, but everything you recorded is yours. The Free tier transcribes existing recordings unrestricted; the 120-minute-per-month cap only applies to new recordings going forward. Multi-device cloud sync stops on cancellation; the local copy on your primary device is preserved.
Why isn't multi-device cloud sync on Free anymore?
Cloud sync between iPhone, iPad, and Mac requires real cloud infrastructure costs that scale with active devices. Pro covers that infrastructure for one primary device; the device add-on covers it for additional ones. Free users get the full app on one device — recordings, transcripts, the lot — just not synced across devices. We'd rather charge a fair price for sync than gimp the Free tier elsewhere.
What transcription engine does Bonfiyah use?
Bonfiyah records on your device and transcribes in the cloud. A live transcript appears while you record; the full per-recording transcript with speaker diarization is produced by our cloud speech provider. The transcript is deleted from the provider immediately after processing, and the original audio auto-deletes from our servers within 7 days.
Is there a limit on cloud transcription?
Recording itself is never capped on Pro and Pro AI — record as long as you like. Cloud AI transcription with speaker separation is included for 25 hours of recording a month on Pro and 35 hours on Pro AI, and for up to 10 hours in any 24-hour period, per account. Past either, recording and transcription keep working on-device (Apple Speech) so you're never blocked — full cloud transcription comes back when the month resets on the 1st (UTC), or at the start of the next 24-hour period for the daily ceiling. On-device transcription continues your capture without interruption; it just doesn't run the cloud speaker-diarization pass until the cloud allowance resets. Need more? Add 12 hours of cloud transcription for $7.99, as often as you like. Extra hours are used after your monthly allowance and carry over until used.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Not today. Bonfiyah ships on iPhone, iPad, and Mac via Catalyst. Live Activity + Dynamic Island handle the lock-screen recording controls.
What is Contact Cleanup and how many contact fixes do I get?
Contact Cleanup finds and merges duplicate Apple Contacts on your device — matching by shared phone number, shared email, and similar names — keeping every phone number, email, address, website, and detail from each copy, and triages Siri-suggested contacts, with bulk actions for large address books. A full restore point of your address book is taken before any bulk merge, so a run is always reversible. It runs entirely on-device; your contact data never leaves your phone. A fix is one merged duplicate or one accepted Siri suggestion; marking a group "not duplicates" is always free. Free includes 25 fixes. Pro includes 50 fixes per calendar month. Pro AI includes unlimited fixes.
How does Pro AI's price compare with Otter or Notta?
Pro AI is $19.99 a month with 35 hours of cloud transcription. Otter Pro is $16.99 a month capped at 1,200 minutes, and Notta Pro is $13.99 a month capped at 1,800 minutes, so Pro AI costs a few dollars a month more than their entry plans. Their business plans list at $30 (Otter) and $27.99 (Notta) per user a month. What MBTI model does Bonfiyah's compatibility map use?
Two published academic frameworks. Costa & McCrae (1992) for the Big Five → MBTI mapping that derives each speaker's 4-letter type from their conversation-derived OCEAN scores. Keirsey-Bates Please Understand Me II (1998) for the pair compatibility model — six bands from Best (92, "Natural Partners") to Difficult (28, all four dimensions opposite). Every team member is scored on 10 dimensions — Originality, Big-picture, Critical Thinking, Determination, Reliability, Open-mindedness, Composure, Empathy, Assertiveness, Sociability — and matched to one of 16 PrinciplesYou archetypes. Family Sharing?
Not currently enabled. The model is one user, multiple devices. If you want a household account where multiple people share recordings, that's not what Bonfiyah is built for — Otter's team plans are the right tool for that shape.
