What does intro pricing actually mean?
Pro is $14.99/mo for the first 2 months, then $24.99/mo. Pro AI is $24.99/mo for the first 60 days, then $34.99/mo. Extra devices are $1.99/mo for the first 90 days, then $2.99/mo. Annual plans are discounted in their first year and step up at renewal. Apple's StoreKit handles the step-up automatically. You can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions. Is there a free trial?
The Free tier is the trial — the full app on one device, 120 minutes per month, forever, with no card and no subscription required. Download it and decide whether Bonfiyah is for you before paying anything. When you're ready for unlimited recording and multi-device sync, the paid tiers lead with intro pricing: Pro at $14.99/mo for the first 2 months, then $24.99/mo; Pro AI at $24.99/mo for the first 60 days, then $34.99/mo. How does Bonfiyah Friends work?
Refer a paid signup with your unique code: both you and the friend get one free month credited to your subscription. Can I switch tiers anytime?
Yes — Apple's StoreKit handles upgrade and downgrade prorated automatically. Upgrade Pro → Pro AI mid-month and you're charged the difference for the remainder of the period. Downgrade and the change applies at the next renewal. Switching tiers does not reset your intro-pricing window — your remaining intro days carry over to the equivalent tier.
What happens to my recordings if I cancel?
Recordings stay on your device. Pro/Pro AI features stop after the period ends, but everything you recorded is yours. The Free tier transcribes existing recordings unrestricted; the 120-minute-per-month cap only applies to new recordings going forward. Multi-device cloud sync stops on cancellation; the local copy on your primary device is preserved.
Why isn't multi-device cloud sync on Free anymore?
Cloud sync between iPhone, iPad, and Mac requires real cloud infrastructure costs that scale with active devices. Pro covers that infrastructure for one primary device; the device add-on covers it for additional ones. Free users get the full app on one device — recordings, transcripts, the lot — just not synced across devices. We'd rather charge a fair price for sync than gimp the Free tier elsewhere.
What transcription engine does Bonfiyah use?
Bonfiyah records on your device and transcribes in the cloud. A live transcript appears while you record; the full per-recording transcript with speaker diarization is produced by our cloud speech provider. The transcript is deleted from the provider immediately after processing, and the original audio auto-deletes from our servers within 7 days.
Is there a limit on cloud transcription?
Recording itself is never capped on Pro and Pro AI — record as long as you like. Cloud AI transcription with speaker separation is included for up to 10 hours of audio per 24-hour period, per account. If you exceed that in a day, recording and transcription keep working on-device (Apple Speech) so you're never blocked — full cloud transcription resumes at the start of the next 24-hour period. On-device transcription continues your capture without interruption; it just doesn't run the cloud speaker-diarization pass until the cloud allowance resets. This fair-use cap exists so a handful of extreme-volume accounts can't degrade transcription for everyone else; in normal personal and small-team use you'll never reach it.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Not today. Bonfiyah ships on iPhone, iPad, and Mac via Catalyst. Live Activity + Dynamic Island handle the lock-screen recording controls.
What is Contact Cleanup and how many contact fixes do I get?
Contact Cleanup finds and merges duplicate Apple Contacts on your device — matching by shared phone number, shared email, and similar names — keeping every phone number, email, address, website, and detail from each copy, and triages Siri-suggested contacts, with bulk actions for large address books. A full restore point of your address book is taken before any bulk merge, so a run is always reversible. It runs entirely on-device; your contact data never leaves your phone. A fix is one merged duplicate or one accepted Siri suggestion; marking a group "not duplicates" is always free. Free includes 25 fixes. Pro monthly includes 50 fixes per calendar month. Pro AI includes unlimited fixes — monthly or annual — and Pro Annual is unlimited too.
Why is Pro AI more expensive than Otter or Notta?
Cross-recording inference costs more than per-recording summarization. What MBTI model does Bonfiyah's compatibility map use?
Two published academic frameworks. Costa & McCrae (1992) for the Big Five → MBTI mapping that derives each speaker's 4-letter type from their conversation-derived OCEAN scores. Keirsey-Bates Please Understand Me II (1998) for the pair compatibility model — six bands from Best (92, "Natural Partners") to Difficult (28, all four dimensions opposite). What is the Ray Dalio Pointillist Painting in Bonfiyah's Team Dynamics?
An implementation of Ray Dalio's Dot Collector model from Principles: Life and Work (2017). Every team member is scored on 10 dimensions — Originality, Big-picture, Critical Thinking, Determination, Reliability, Open-mindedness, Composure, Empathy, Assertiveness, Sociability — and matched to one of 16 PrinciplesYou archetypes. The team-level heatmap surfaces who to lean on for which kind of decision, supporting Dalio's "believability-weighted" decision-making. Family Sharing?
Not currently enabled. The model is one user, multiple devices. If you want a household account where multiple people share recordings, that's not what Bonfiyah is built for — Otter's team plans are the right tool for that shape.
